These are the terms for this website and for the Thumb beta. Thumb is made by Wireside Studios Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, in Kent. Using the site or the beta means you agree to them. They are written to be read.

This website

You may read it, link to it and share it. You may not scrape it, flood the beta form, or try to get into the staff pages. What we collect and why is on the privacy page.

The beta list

Giving us your email address asks for a place in the beta. It does not guarantee one, and it does not commit you to anything. We invite people in batches, UK first. You can leave the list at any time by emailing us, and we will delete your address.

The beta

Beta software is unfinished by definition. When you are invited, Thumb is provided as it is at the time, for you to try, and it may change, break, or be withdrawn without notice while it is in beta. Do not rely on it for anything you cannot afford to have go wrong.

Thumb works on your Gmail or Microsoft account with your permission, which you can withdraw at any time in that account's own settings. Thumb archives, it never deletes, and it never sends a reply without your tap. Your mail stays where it is; Thumb is not a copy of it. If you stop using Thumb, nothing in your account changes.

You must be at least 16 and the owner of, or allowed to use, any account you connect. If your account belongs to your employer, connecting it is between you and them.

Paying for Pro

During the beta, Pro is free. When Thumb is released, Pro will be a subscription bought through the App Store on Apple's terms, and cancelled there. Prices on this site are the intended prices at release and may change before then.

What we are responsible for

We will take reasonable care with the site, the beta and your data, and we will fix what we break as quickly as we can. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage that comes from using the site or the beta, including mail that is misfiled, a reply that is drafted wrongly, or the beta being unavailable. Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not let us limit, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending things

You can stop using the site or the beta whenever you like, and disconnect your account in the app. We can end or suspend access to the beta if it is being misused or if the beta ends. If we end it, we will tell you.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring a claim in your own courts.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. If you are on the beta list and the change matters to you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
