Thumb is made by Wireside Studios Ltd in Kent, UK. This page says what we collect on this site and in the app, where it is kept, and how to have it removed. It is short because there is not much.

This website

If you join the beta list

We keep the email address you gave us, the time you gave it, which form on the page you used, the page that sent you here if your browser told us, any campaign tags in the link you followed, and the name of your browser. We use these to invite you to the beta and to tell you when Thumb is ready, and to learn where people hear about us. We do not send anything else, and we do not share the list with anyone.

You are on the list because you asked to be. Write to us at the address below and we will take you off it and delete the row.

Counting visits

We count page views, which button was pressed, and how far down the page people read, so we can see what is working. A visit is tied to a random number that exists only for that page load. We do not record IP addresses, we do not set cookies, and we do not store anything on your device. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not count you at all. Vercel, which hosts the site, also counts visits for us; it does this without cookies and does not give us IP addresses.

Because the site uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, there is no cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.

Where it is kept

The beta list and the visit counts are in a database run for us by Supabase in Ireland, in the European Union. The site itself is served by Vercel. Both work for us under written terms and neither may use the data for anything of their own.

How long

The beta list is kept until the beta ends or you ask to be removed, whichever is sooner. Visit counts are kept for twelve months and then deleted.

The app

Thumb is not released yet. Before it is, this page will say exactly what the app does with your mail. The rules it is being built to are already decided, and they are these.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to our using it. Email us and we will do it. If you are not happy with how we handle that, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Who we are

Wireside Studios Ltd, Kent, United Kingdom. The person responsible for data is Farhan Baig. Write to farhan@wiresidestudios.com.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is about the app and you are on the beta list, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
